Artist Statement: The Glass Highways Series considers the infrastructure that maintains American suburban ideals while hinting at its fragility and consequences, including the death of the artist’s brother in an automobile accident on a suburban Chicago highway in June of 2020. Using specialized software, the location and movement of the sun throughout the sky was animated based on where the sun would be located in the sky in Chicago on the date of his passing.
