Tiffany Carbonneau

Tiffany Carbonneau’s architectural video projections combine digital and historical processes to create moving images that activate specific sites’ social and geographic history.   Exploring the complexity of what defines a place, her layered visual narratives highlight intersections between a space’s past and present and draw connections between local, national, and international social and economic systems.  Carbonneau is a 2011 Efroymson Contemporary Arts Fellow, and an Associate Professor of Fine Art at Indiana University Southeast where she founded and heads the Digital Art area.

Tiffany’s work has been exhibited internationally at The University of Hamburg, Move Light Festival in Lodz, Poland, Infecting the City Public Art Festival in Cape Town, South Africa, and The Toronto Urban Film Festival in Toronto, Ontario. Nationally, her architectural projections have been exhibited during Northern Spark outdoor art festival in Minneapolis, IN Light IN: Indianapolis Light Festival, Lumen: International Video Art and Performance Festival and Fountain Art Fair at The 69th Regiment Armory both in New York City, Inlight Richmond in Richmond, Virginia, Currents New Media Festival in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Free State Film and Art Festival in Lawrence, Kansas, as well as other traditional and non-traditional venues in Miami, San Diego, Louisville, and Cleveland. Supported by a grant from The National Endowment for the Arts, her public commission, Illuminate Oregon City, consisted of a seventy-foot outdoor video projection on display nightly for one year in Oregon City, Oregon.

Tiffany lived in the suburban Chicago area until she was nineteen, when she moved to Flagstaff, Arizona to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics and a Bachelor of Science in Art Education at Northern Arizona University.  She received her Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Ohio University in 2010 and currently resides in New Albany, Indiana with her husband, Brian, her dogs, Crunch and Oliver, and her cat, Triscuit.
