His humility and sensitivity really shine through his photographs as he captures the truth in the emotion of each moment. Episode 4: Living With Local Art, featuring Larry Shapin and Ladonna Nicolas of Shapin Nicolas Art Project (SNAP) Foundation.
Before meeting our next guests, Larry Shapin and Ladonna Nicolas, I had never been to a home that was filled with art wall to wall. There was work in the living room, dining room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and everywhere else in between! Not only that, but they’ve had to make space on the property to build more gallery space over the years as they acquired more work. The best part is, 99% of the work was created by local artists. It was incredible! In this episode I chat with Larry and Ladonna about their unique collection, the different art adventures they immerse themselves in, the importance of appreciating local art, and the joys of collecting.
This episode is paired with a 2021 Columbia Valley Syrah from JBell Wine Co.

As Louisville’s only Black owned gallery, Cathy has a unique point of view of the art world and shared some wonderful insight during our chat.
