Matthew & Mitchell Bradley
Matthew and Mitchell Bradley are identical twins and visual artists creating work together in Louisville, Ky. Working as a team they found they are natural collaborators and their artwork has benefited and grown stronger from their combined focus. Their projects concentrate on their shared experiential reality utilizing a variety of interdisciplinary art making skills to create visual imagery. In their digital video and photo based works, they are inspired by pop culture, mythology and the fluid landscape of gender and sexual politics. They are also very experienced in contemporary art curation and installation having consulted and worked with many art galleries and museums over the last 20+ years.
The TeknoAngst Series is an ongoing visual examination of our society’s fear of advancements in technology leading to the end of humanity. Investigating the interdependent relationship between us, human civilization and our inventions, we glean our imagery from popular culture and visual media such as Sci-Fi movies and television shows, book and magazine cover illustrations, anime and comic book iconography and futurist theory to create artworks that navigate new pathways and interconnections for a better understanding of these fast-paced paradigm shifts in our world today and our future tomorrow.
